ECM Publishers, Inc. operates a non-heat-set web newspaper printing facility in Princeton, Minnesota. With 61 press units and four press lines, ECM has the most non-heat single-width commercial capability in the upper Midwest. In addition to printing 22 ECM owned weekly publications, ECM also produces work commercially for a number of high-profile publishers including the Midwest daily edition of The New York Times and the University of Minnesota Daily. Overall, ECM produces a wide variety of publications and freestanding inserts for hundreds of commercial customers ranging from magazine-sized work to tabloid and broadsheet work.

Services include, full 4-color capability, state of the art electronic pre-press featuring PDF workflow, digital proofing, and computer-to-plate technology. Customers may choose a Stochastic screening process for their non-heat newspaper printing and ECM is proud to offer it. ECM is only one of three printers nationwide that can run this screening process on newsprint. ECM has a complete post press area of the facility which includes saddle-stitch bindery, four machine insertion lines, the ability to do 8-into-1 inserting in one pass, and full mailing capability featuring ink-jet addressing.

ECM’s sales and customer support combine as a team to provide the best possible service for our web customers. In addition to having personalized attention from an ECM Account Executive, you will also be assigned an ECM Customer Advocate who is at the Princeton facility five days a week watching over your job, and communicating with you, as your job gets produced through the operation.
